For my final assignment in my branding and marketing design lesson I chose a 2L Sweet Tea liquid I named Josh's Sweet Tea...In honor of my first love, southern sweet tea. That stuff is so yummy and addicting! I can drink that stuff every day. McDonald's Sweet Tea is the main inspiration. It actually does contain a subtle amount of Black
Orange Pekoe. I created the brown gradient abstract brain illustration and the 3D juice box with the logo picture of a little purple brain. It's really fun to create 3D illustrations in Adobe Illustrator. I made a marketing package complete with an envelope and business card design.

Working with Wallpaper Layout Styles
In my "How to Brand" something like products and website pages etc I learned how to build appealing website page layouts with pictures in the background and writing on the front. We didn't do too much with this lesson but I still liked how messing around with images and rearranging image wallpapers and then adding text to it helped me get a sense of what a future website might need in terms of having that branded look.

Learning how to construct Packaging Design
Drawing and building design for boxes and other packaging elements was enthralling. I really loved all the designs I came up with for different products. I even learned how to assemble different types of boxes by creating the outline and line foundation, adding color and illustrations and then building it. Now I have a better understanding of how everything comes together to make an appealing box that advertises the information it needs to.

Decorating Boring Annual Reports
I chose to redecorate the annual report of an organization that specializes in disabilities and neurodivergent people. I feel like a lot of people don't know enough about Autism and Asperger's Syndrome. It's fascinating and disturbing how some cultures revere and others demonize these individuals. I am lucky to have been born in Canada where all energy and walks of life are respected but there are still groups of people that are clueless and fearful. I hope there is a world in the future that accepts and lets the neurodivergent be themselves. Where no one is afraid of them. Where no one's mindset shifts negatively just because someone is different. Where they are not automatically targeted for abuse.
I highly respect foundations like St. Amant and Asperger Manitoba so I tried to bling out their boring pdf with some artsy vectors. Captivating illustrations make reading long paragraphs fun and then the information that it holds is more easily digested.

Threadless Shirt Newsletter Project
For this project I had to build a newsletter showcasing T-Shirts for the website Threadless.com I chose to highlight clothing with a camping theme. I love the Threadless company very much and their shirts always have very fun and interesting designs. I also love camping and I could not resist digitally drawing camping scenes to spotlight their products. Who knows, maybe in the future I will design things for them.

Wonder Wandering with Words
For this project I wandered around the city of Winnipeg to find the best spots where graffiti laid. Winnipeg has a ton of awesome street art all over the place. Graffiti art and murals and other types of art styles on buildings....and even on trains! I took a lot of photos and picked the best ones to put in a little book with my poetry. I also vectorized my paintings and put them behind the text of my poetry. If you love city art photography and poems check out my pics below:
