I am learning to love photography once more. I haven't seriously looked at the world through a photographer's eyes in a long time but last week I got to stretch my photography muscles with a cool homework assignment. I walked all over my neighborhood and the downtown area of Winnipeg to capture shapes in the city landscape that make the shapes of letters. I captured the entire alphabet and then I also had to take photos of extra letters to make my name. I moved my neck up and down and side to side a lot. I felt like a bird trying to collect all the angles I needed to build my art pieces.

Later in the week I decided to take photos of events that happened in the city. I transformed into a documentary event photographer and took photos of Winter Fest at the Central Park and also at a block party in the Spence Neighborhood area and at True North Square plaza. I tried to take pictures of people without them knowing I was there but most of the time I asked permission. You can see those pictures on my Instagram: @Maplearticulations
The coolest picture I caught was at the True North Square fire show where I set up my Canon Powershot camera to painting with light settings by changing the shutter speed, aperture, and ISO:
